H-Day minus one

Yesterday we ran a couple errands, but pretty much just recovered from the excitement that was Tuesday. The main way we did this was by driving out to Bishop Hill for lunch and a walk around.

Bishop Hill was founded by Swedes who came to the US for religious freedom. The village, now, is part tourist/part historical site. We've seen the halls and such before, so we strolled through the shops checking out the knicknacks and such. And we had a good lunch.

The spouser had Swedish meatballs, a big bowl of garden vegetable soup and raspberry pie. I had a salad plate called The Garden Crate. A nice 1/2 c. scoop of chicken salad was surrounded by slices of a wide variety of veggies and fruits. A small corn muffin accompanied this. Yum. I finished the meal with a slice of strawberry-rhubarb pie. YUM. A really decent cuppa coffee would have made it perfect.

Today we're packing everything up that remains around the house. The kitchen is being emptied into the garbage can. A think a final run to Goodwill. Then pack up our stuff. Yay!!
